Tunisian-in-the-round: Tara blanket

Ready to take Tunisian crochet beyond flat panels? In this immersive intermediate workshop, Arunima Goel introduces Tunisian crochet in the round, a technique that unlocks striking geometric designs with surprising ease.

You’ll learn how to use a double-ended hook, work a continuous spiral, and alternate colours between forward and return passes to create depth without complexity.

Starting with 8-ply yarn builds confidence before applying the method to the bold Tara Blanket. With just two stitches and a rhythmic four-row repeat, this is the kind of skill that looks impressive and feels deeply satisfying to master.

Please bring the following with you to the workshop session:

• 8 ply yarn in two contrasting colours
• A “pointy” double-ended hook: Either a 6.5 mm double-ended hook, or a custom double-ended hook made with a 6.5 mm Tunisian crochet hook (forward pass) and a 6 mm hook (return pass) joined by a cable.
• Four (4) stitch markers (at least one in a different colour)
• Scissors and tapestry/yarn needle for finishing
• Notebook and pen
